CHÂTEAU CROIZET-BAGES GRAND CRU CLASSÉ PAUILLAC

2017, 75cl, 13.5%

A Grand Cru Classe of the prestigious Pauillac appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region, Chateau Croizet-Bages has enjoyed a remarkable ascent to its current reputation. 2017 was a challenging vintage, demanding uncompromising technical skill from the team. Although the vineyard located near the Gironde estuary was damaged by the frost at the end of April, the most beautiful parcels of Chateau Croizet-Bages were spared. The nice weather during the summer allowed the vines to retake their normal vegetative cycle until an early harvest, starting with Merlot on September 8 and ending with Cabernet Sauvignon on September 29. Through careful vinifications carried out under the guidance of the experienced oenologist consultant Eric Boissenot, the Chateau Croizet-Bages 2017 reveals a fabulous vintage indeed.

With a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) complemented by Merlot (35%), the Chateau Croizet-Bages 2017 reveals all the power of a great Pauillac through a wine that expresses great elegance and refinement. With a beautiful maturity, the palate evolves a nice structure, with subtle tannins reflecting the precise extractions, while the powerful finish offers beautiful length. An elegant Pauillac that does not lack character.
